Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 11, 2026

At Sequirly, privacy isn't just a feature—it's our foundation. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and respect your personal information when you use our browser extension and related services.

We built Sequirly with a zero-knowledge architecture because we believe your data should stay yours. This policy outlines our commitment to that principle.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (encrypted).
  • Communication Data: When you contact our support team, we collect the information you provide in your messages.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with Sequirly, including features used, frequency of use, and extension settings.
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and IP address.
  • Audit Logs: Encrypted records of data detections and interventions (stored locally in your browser by default).

1.3 What We DON'T Collect

Thanks to our zero-knowledge architecture:

  • Sensitive Data Content: We never see, store, or transmit the actual sensitive data (passwords, API keys, etc.) that Sequirly detects. All processing happens locally in your browser.
  • AI Conversation Content: We don't monitor or store your conversations with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or other AI platforms.
  • Browsing History: We don't track your general browsing activity outside of supported AI platforms.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and Improve Our Service: Deliver core functionality, fix bugs, and develop new features.
  • Account Management: Create and manage your account, process payments, and provide customer support.
  • Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Analytics: Understand usage patterns to improve user experience (using aggregated, anonymized data).
  • Communications: Send service updates, security alerts, and respond to your inquiries.
  • Compliance: Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate our business (payment processing, hosting, analytics). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We'll notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
  • With Your Consent: We may share information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

  • Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
  • Local Processing: Sensitive data detection happens entirely in your browser—we never receive the actual sensitive content.
  • Access Controls: Strict internal access controls and authentication protocols.
  • Regular Audits: Ongoing security assessments and vulnerability testing.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide you with our services
